Last weekend eighteen U12 players took part in a blitz in Maynooth Town against the local team and Bohemians. The same group had twenty eight players for an inhouse game in St.Catherine's park on Wednesday night. Pre-season games against Larkviews two U12 squads this Sunday and Maynooths two squads next Wednesday shows the massive increase in girls football over the last couple of years.
Liffeybank have seen our girls numbers double over the last 18 months but are still looking for girls to fill out extra squads.
Our oldest team is Under 17 (2007/08), they have a squad of 16 but need a couple more players. League winners last season the team is hoping to improve on their past performances and want dedicated players to join as they go Premier this year. Our Under 15 squad have expanded so much that we are entering two teams this year, one team in Under 15 Premier and the other just one Division lower in A. Any girl 2009/10 looking to play either A or B is more than welcome to join this dedicated group.
We have new teams at Under 11 (2013/14) and Under 8 (2016). The U11 team is ready to go and with numbers rising we may enter a second team. The group has been training away while the Under 8 team will still be in the Club Academy for a few more weeks before playing games.
If you know of a girl looking to play please get in touch with us on our Social Media Platforms or Jim Keating 0868954323
With all this growth in the club we are also looking for volunteers to help train and coach these teams. If you have a couple of free hours a week and feel like giving back to the community please get in touch with us.
