Clontarf 1 - 1 Liffeybank
A tough away fixture against a tough and determined Clontarf side started brightly for Liffeybank, dominating the early exchanges and creating two decent chances through to Steven Byrne, who was very unlucky not to convert on a somewhat bobbly surface.
Liffeybank persistance and willingness to put the pressure on the home side led to a goal on the 20 minute mark from Ross Fitzpatrick, a great delivery from goalkeeper Darren Smith, was flicked on by Stephen Doherty into the path of Steven Byrne, who duly squared the ball for Ross Fitzpatrick to slot it home.
A lapse in concentration led to Clontarf equalising within minutes. Clontarf then started to take control of the rest of the half, until Ross Fitzpatrick had another effort that cracked off the post. 1-1 half time.
The second half was one way traffic for the most part, Liffeybank put the pressure onto the home team creating numerous chances. Calvin Tang and Ross Fitzpatrick again came close to putting us 2-1 ahead, but it wasn't to be. Liffeybank played out the game with great effort and some quality passing moves, but the game ended in a draw, leaving us unbeaten in our last 4 league games.
