A small bit of history will be made on Sunday in St.Catherine's Park when Liffeybank take on Birr Town in the first ever Women's Leinster Junior Cup game played under the Leinster Football Association. This game and also the Mountmellick v Terenure game kick off a couple of hours before all other ties.
It promises to be a high scoring game with both teams playing an attacking brand of football. The visitors from Offaly ply their trade in the Combined Counties Football League while Liffeybank play in the Eastern Women's Football League. Forty Five clubs have entered the competition from six different Leagues around Leinster.
