Welcome to Liffeybank's Last One Standing 2 competition.

We started this competition with 90 entries (2 didn't pick teams, so 88 competitors), this gives a prize fund of €150 this time, thanks to so many of you for your generous support.

73 players were eliminated in the first round!!! Only 15 remain!!! I'm starting to see why the 8 match accumulators in bookies are such a money maker!!!

Man City have caused complete carnage, with 48 of you being eliminated by their inability to score goals this season. Looks to me like they're missing David Silva, and Sergio Aguero isn't getting any younger. £650 million spent in the last 4 years but not a single striker signed in that time, might need to review that.............. Raheem Sterling can only win so many penalties with his swan dives...........

Chelsea were going great guns until someone called them favourites for the league, 5 of you knocked out by their loss to Wolves.............. now Frank sounds like he's blaming his players a little. It's tough at (near) the top (6th spot)

Aston Villa somehow didn't beat Burnley this evening despite pummelling them for 90 minutes, El Ghazi became increasingly wasteful as the game wore on, but the effervescent Jack Grealish sparkled throughout, almost winning it at the death. Martin O' Neill should really, really, really have given him a full cap when he was 14 or whatever age he was....

Arsenal, so superior (in Arteta's head) that they insist on playing with 10 players each week to level the playing field, did well to salvage a draw versus Southampton, but not well enough to save the 4 of you who picked them..... and 1 who picked Southampton

West Ham...... meh, are West Ham, enough said. Draw vs Crystal Palace resulted in no joy for 6 of you

Everton, selected by nobody - don't blame you, bunch of thugs who, lest it be forgotten, robbed the world of Virgil van Dijk for the foreseeable - beat an unpredictable Leicester. 2 of you eliminated there.

Only winners were Super Leeds United, Liverpool and Man United so there's 15 players left

A note on Leeds. What a team and what a manager in Bielsa. The 4 man overlap for the 4th goal was the best thing I've seen in years and brought back flashbacks of my youth playing as a banger for whatever team was short a player in the Phoenix Park each Sunday morning.

Spurs somehow seemed unlucky to lose against Liverpool (may as well give them the trophy now), but I did have an exhilarating feeling of epicaricacy watching Jose Mourinho think that he is important again, hard to feel sorry for him........... ever............ 1 of you went with Spurs.
